What is Encordia Piano, in one sentence?

An AI piano teacher that speaks lessons aloud, demonstrates on a keyboard you can watch, and checks the notes you play on your own MIDI keyboard as you play them.

Can I use it now?

Not yet. It is in private beta, invited in small batches, and is not on the App Store or Google Play. Joining the waitlist is how you get in.

How much will it cost?

We have not set pricing. It will be a subscription with a free tier when it launches, and people on the waitlist will hear the details before anyone else. There is nothing to buy on this site today.

Do I need a MIDI keyboard?

Effectively, yes. Encordia reads notes directly from a connected digital piano or controller, and that is what makes the feedback exact. There is an on-screen piano you can click, but it is a fallback rather than the experience.

Will it work with my acoustic piano?

No. Nothing listens through your microphone for notes — the microphone is only used when you talk to the teacher. Supporting acoustic instruments is a much harder problem and is not built.

What can I run it on?

Desktop web in Chrome, Edge or Opera, or the native iPad build. iOS Safari cannot access MIDI devices, so browsers on iPhone and iPad will not work. Android support exists in development builds.

How much material is there?

Roughly twenty teachable concepts and one goal song, "A Minor Dream". It is deliberately small: the aim during beta is to get the teaching loop right before widening the catalogue.

Does it teach sheet music reading?

No. The method is by ear, and there is no notation in the product today. Reading is a genuinely useful separate skill, and a reasonable thing to add later.

Is it for children?

It is aimed at adults and older teenagers. Nothing about it is unsuitable for a younger child, but it has not been designed or tested for them, so we would rather not claim it.

Does an AI decide whether I played it right?

No, and this is a deliberate design choice. Whether you played the right notes is measured against what the music asks for. The AI handles the talking, the explanations and your questions — not the marking.

Can I ask it questions?

Yes. You can hold a button and ask something out loud mid-lesson, and the answer comes back spoken, in the context of what you are working on.

Are there teacher or parent accounts?

Not yet. Multi-student management and progress dashboards for teachers and parents are things we want to build, but nothing exists today and we would rather say so.
